The time it was bookish mail {17}

Posted November 27, 2015 by Stacee in Bookish Mail / 4 Comments

I’ve sort of stopped doing a bookish mail post because I have been including what I get in my monthly wrap up posts. When my bookshelf almost collapsed, I found a few pretties that I never shared, so let’s check it out, shall we?

rightBack in July, I went to the launch party for The Truth About Erica by Michelle Painchard. I had taken notes for a blog post, like usual.  Sadly, I accidentally deleted the draft before I was able to save it. What I do remember is that Michelle told us that her last name translated to “hot bread” and she included that in the inscription.

I loved Velvet by Temple West right away. The story and snark was exactly what I was looking for at the time.  When Temple and other authors went on tour, sadly, she wasn’t coming anywhere near me.  Rachel was awesome enough to let me send her my arc to get signed until I can meet Temple myself.

4The Scarlet series came highly recommended.  Of course I devoured them and loved them.  When AC Gaughen toured for the last book, Lion Heart, she wasn’t getting close to me.  But, Katie took my books and got some things signed for me.

6When Michelle Zink was holding contests for an arc of Promises I Made {the sequel to Lies I Told}, I entered every single one of them.  I was so excited to see how the series was going to end.  I was surprised to be a winner of one of the contests and the day that I got the envelope, it was empty.  Sealed, but empty. {Seriously, I have the worst luck with the USPS}  I emailed Michelle and told her about it and she so nicely sent me another one.

3And last, but never ever least, somehow I noticed that I didn’t have a matching cover of Lola by Stephanie Perkins.  I ordered a copy from Malaprop’s and in the order, asked for it to be personalized.  Stephanie is one of the sweetest people ever and she signed the sweetest thing.

5Maybe I’m a little spoiled…

  1. Sorry about your bookshelf disaster, but I bet it was cool to rediscover these books. That’s super great that you have a friend who brought your books to be signed at an even. Talk about friendship. :) Signed books always give a nice special feeling when you look at them, especially when they are personalized. Now you have me curious, how many signed books do you own?

      Five of my six bookshelves are filled with signed books. I have five or six tubs filled with other books in storage.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  2. I almost lost my big Sunday/end of November post this week when my internet crashed for some unknown reason. But fortunately it was still there when it came back up. Looks like some awesome authors were met, I haven’t met an author, all year I think! This has not been my year for that. Although I should be getting to meet a new author this Friday.
    Check out my Sunday Post
