The time it was about Reading Rewind

Once upon a time, I posted a photo on Instagram that prompted Katie from Shelfishly Addicted and I to have a conversation about re-reading favorites. We wondered if we would still love them as much as we did when we first read them.  And just like that…a new feature was born.

Introducing Reading Rewind!

RRewind

How it works:

I am going to pick a book that I haven’t read in a while and reread it to see if my rating of it is the same. On the 15th of the month, I’ll do a blog post that answers three questions.

What are those questions?

  1. When did you originally read the book and what did you rate it?
  2. Why did you love it?
  3. After the re-read did your rating/feelings about it change? Why or why not?

Want to participate? It’s easy!

  • Pick a book and create your own Reading Rewind post.  Feel free to use the graphic above or make your own.  Either way, please credit and link back to Adventures of a Book Junkie.
  • As I said above, I’m going to post on the 15th, but you can post whenever you like.
  • Come back on the 15th to share the link to your post so everyone can visit! {If this turns into something awesome, I’ll add a linky, but for now, just leave your link in the comments section.}
  • Check out other people’s links to see what they re-read!

Obviously, I would love for you to join me! After reading YA for the last million years, I know there are a lot of books on my shelves that I can’t wait to get back to. Especially since I’ve gotten a bit pickier as I’ve delved into YA.

The first post goes up tomorrow and I’m re-reading the first YA book I read.

So, what do you think?

Edit: Katie isn’t participating in this feature any longer, so I’ve changed some of the wording and the graphic to reflect that.  However, I still want to make sure it’s known that we did come up with this topic together.

Thanks!! I read the whole series several times, but it’s been about 7 years since I’ve picked up any of them. I’m pretty excited to see how it goes.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  1. This feature is amazing :) I really should do this too, sometime. I have so many great books that I would love to re-read :) Though, lol, I do re-read a lot of my recent favorites pretty often. <3 Thank you for sharing Stacee :)

  2. This is such a cool feature! I’ve definitely had moments where, when I think about books I LOVED years ago, I realize I don’t love them now. Like I loved Twilight when it first came out, but I have no desire to re-read it. And I LOVED Lauren Oliver’s Delirium trilogy when I first read it. But then I spoke to someone who wanted a reminder on how book 3 ended. I thought I loved that ending, but as I thought about it… Nope : Similarly, I loved Divergent and Insurgent but I HATED Allegiant and every time I consider re-reading the trilogy, it’s a big NOPE! But then I think back to some other series I read and I’m like.. Wow, I LOVED that and I still think I would if I re-read!

That was a lot of babbling.. sorry! But.. Amazing feature! Love it! :)

  3. I read the series sometime early last year. For the first book I only liked Tucker and Wendy. Later on I started to like Angela too and understand Christian but I just couldn’t get ajy strong feelings regarding Clara and her family.
