The time it was Top Ten Tuesday {8}

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s topic is: Top Ten Resolutions for 2016 and I’m going resolve to finally read these books this year.  Although, to be honest, every time I announce my intent to read something, it’s like I jinx it. I’m going to try so so so hard to actually get to these.

1. Just One Day and Just One Year by Gayle Forman — I’ve had these books on my TBR since forever and I’ve just never gotten around to them.  I don’t even know why I haven’t read them…

2. Asunder and Infinite by Jodi Meadows — I read and loved Incarnate, but knew that I was going to wait for the trilogy to end before I continued.  When I finally got my greedy hands on book 3, I never went back to them.  Now it’s been so long since I’ve read book 1, I know I’ll have to reread it before I can continue.  But yay for binging!

3. How to Kill a Rock Star by Tiffanie DeBartolo — I know so many people who have read and loved this book.  Like it’s their favorite book ever.  I’ve even peeked and read the ending to see if there’s a HEA.  I don’t know why I haven’t gotten around to it, but maybe 2016 is my year for it.

4. The Magicians series by Lev Grossman — I heard about this when Michelle Hodkin talked about it and she said it was like Harry Potter for adults.  That pretty much sold it for me. Now it’s going to be a tv show and I can’t decide if I want to read it before the show airs or after.

5. Eternity by Elizabeth Miles — I will be completely honest and say that I don’t remember the majority of what happened in the previous books.  What I do remember is the wicked ending of book 2 and how I couldn’t wait to see how it all ended.  Annnnnnnnnnd then I never got book 3 when it came out.

6. Winger by Andrew Smith — Another book I’ve had in my TBR since it came out and I’ve just never picked it up.

7. The Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown — I’ve heard all sorts of good things about this series, but I haven’t read any of them.  Hopefully when the last book comes out, I’ll binge.

8. Erased and Reborn by Jennifer Rush — Clearly I have a habit of reading the first book in a series and then nothing else…

9. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky — I’m almost afraid of reading this because of all the hype.

10. Unraveled by Gennifer Albin — I really need to see how this series ends.

I could have easily listed 10 more, even with my cheating.  I’m going to try to read more of the books that are taking over my apartment.  I’ve gotten so used to reading on my kindle, it’s time to clear some space for more books.

Did you make any bookish resolutions for 2016?

  1. I’m happy to see you listed Gayle’s books first :-) These two are SO good! Different from If I Stay and Where She Went, of course, but the characters and story will pull you in just the same.

I also have a habit of reading the first book in the series and nothing else, usually because it takes time for the second and third books to publish that I’ve moved on by the time they come back, and I gaze at them wistfully on the bookstore shelf. Haha. I may make this one of my resolutions!

I’ve picked up those books of Gayle’s so many times and just never actually read them. It will happen!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  2. You know, I usually end up not liking overly hyped books, but Perks was okay. Not fabulous, but not a waste of time either. I am with you on the Red Rising books; Red Rusing and Golden Son have been sitting on my Kindle from Nertgalkey for forever. Ha ha. I think I will add The Magicians to my Goodreads. Happy New Year!

      I will definitely do that!!

Thanks for reading and commenting. And you know I can’t resist my River.

  3. There are a lot of great books on this list! Winger was one of my favorites from last year~ Asunder and Infinite are on my TBR for this year as well. I have so many series to finish up too. That’s definitely a goal for this year. And to read more of the books I already own!

I definitely want to try to read more of the books I already own. I have stacks all over my apartment and yet I’m constantly on EW or NG requesting e-copies… Hopefully we both stick to that resolution!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  4. I haven’t read Perks of Being A Wallflower either, but my friend loves it. And it’s so short anyway, that even if you don’t like it, it’ll be over quick. I wish you luck on completing these books! Happy 2016!

  5. You’ve got some great books on this list!!! I’m trying to read The Magicians, too, but who knows how that will go. Looking forward to seeing your reviews for these titles! :)

I just found my copies of The Magicians. It was buried at the bottom of a TBR stack {go figure} and I completely forgot that they were signed!! *face palm* Hopefully you get to them too!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

I haven’t heard a bad thing about it, so hopefully we can both get to reading the series this year!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!!
