The time it was Top Ten Tuesday {11}

Posted March 29, 2016 by Stacee in Top Ten Tuesday / 13 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

Today’s topic is: Ten of My Most Recent 5 Star Reads. I just went right to Goodreads and went backwards on my “read in 2016” shelf.

1 2 3 4 5

1. The Love that Split the World by Emily Henry — I just finished this book the other night and I’m still thinking about it. It was absolutely stunning and made me want to pick it right back up as soon as I was done with it.  I’m afraid to read anything else {and I haven’t since Saturday} because I know it won’t compare. Also, it’s definitely making the top 5 of 2016 list.

2. RoseBlood by A.G. Howard — I am amazingly lucky to be spoiled by Anita and I got to read this.  It’s lyrical and eerie and swoony and I want to live in the setting.  I can’t wait to be able to flail about it with you guys.

3. The Epidemic by Suzanne Young — I’ve loved this series since the beginning with The Program and I was thrilled to see that we were getting prequels.  Quinn is a great MC and I loved her journey.  I could read books in this world forever.

4. Dreamology by Lucy Keating — This was…perfection.  It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before. It’s imaginative and vivid and I loved both of the MCs.

5. Wicked Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren — I love this series {I have no idea what it’s called} so much more than the Beautiful series.  The women seem to be stronger/snarkier/mouthier and the men are just UNF. This book was definitely one of the best of all of them.

6 7 8 9 27

6. Girl Against the Universe by Paula Stokes — Are you sick of me talking about this one yet? Get used to it.

7. Wild Swans by Jessica Spotswood — Jessica sucked me in with her awesome witch trilogy and I absolutely love her words. This book is no exception.

8. Relic by Gretchen McNeil — I will legit read anything and everything Gretchen puts out or blurbs.  She’s my queen of horror and no one could possibly pull off cannibalism in YA like she did.

9. Every Move by Ellie Marney — This is the ending book of an awesome Watson/Mycroft retelling.  I waited to finally get my hands on the third book before binging the series, and maaaaan, it was so awesome.  And well worth the wait.

10. The Rose and the Dagger by Renée Ahdieh — This is different than Wrath, yet I loved it just as much, but in a different way.  I want to roll around in Renée’s words forever.

I did give 5 stars to both of the Rose novellas by Renée, but didn’t include them in my list because they’re so so so short.  So, I guess I cheated like I always do.  At least I’m consistent.

What is your most recent 5 star review?

      Yep! The Program and The Treatment were the first books. The Remedy and The Epidemic are prequels. I love all of them — well, really, all of Suzanne’s books. She’s one of my favorites.
