The time it was the Top 10 of 2016

Posted December 26, 2016 by Stacee in Blog Tours and Hops, Giveaways / 40 Comments

I participated in this fun blog hop last year and decided to do it again this year. Huge thanks to the ladies at Tales of the Ravenous Reader for putting it together. Each day there will be a new topic, a new top 10 list, and a new giveaway, so be sure to come back!

Today’s topic is: Best Books I’ve Read in 2016 {in no particular order, except number 1}

caraval star only love moon

1. Caraval by Stephanie Garber — I think you all know by now that this is my top book of 2016.  I could gush for days about how much I love it.  Do yourself a favor and get it as soon as you can.

2. The Star Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi — Lovely prose, gorgeous imagery, and fantastic world building.  I want to roll around in Roshani’s words and never come out.

3. The Only Thing Worse Than Me is You by Lily Anderson — I was sold at the tagline stating it was Ten Things I Hate About You + Much Ado About Nothing. This book is filled with snark and nerdery and it’s perfection.

4. The Love that Split the World by Emily Henry –Time travel and mindfuckery and lovely lovely words.  I don’t have words to describe how much I loved this book.

5. When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore — Just know if you’re not reading Anna-Marie’s books, you’re missing out.

6. The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon — A sweet story set in a 24 hour time frame with Nicola’s lovely words and a near perfect epilogue.

7. You Know Me Well by Nina LaCour and David Levithan — I will legit read anything Nina puts her name on, so this was a no brainer for me.

8. All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda — This story is told backwards, so we get the ending first, then each chapter is the day before.  It’s clever and creepy and absolutely delicious.

9. My Lady Jane by Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows, and Cynthia Hand — One of the main characters turns into a horse and I don’t think I need to say anything else about it.

10. Dreamology by Lucy Keating — A girl who meets the boy she dreams about? Yeah, count me in.

Perhaps one of the best parts of 2016 was all of the great books that were published. I could have easily listed more, but hopefully with the upcoming topics, I’ll get to name all of my favorites of the year.

Now, go forth and enter the giveaway! Contest is international, book will be coming from TBD, and additional rules are here.

**Good Luck!!**

One of mine was Not If I See You First by Lindstrom. It had a blind main female and the romance was very subtle and snuck up on you.

  6. And I Darken by Kiersten White. There’s no other book that comes close to this one for me, at least this year. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
It seems like everyone loves Caraval, I can’t wait to get my hands on it. And Ten Things I Hate About You is one of my favorite movies ever, so I cannot wait to read The Only Thing Worse Than Me.
