I am 100% here for all of the slasher/murdery books out there and when I heard that Stephanie Perkins was going to be writing in the horror genre, I was beyond excited. I had been hearing her talk about the story for There’s Someone Inside Your House for so long, I was dying to get it in my greedy hands and it was definitely worth the wait.
When it came time for the blog tour, I’m pretty sure my reply email to the invite was complete gibberish.
Before I share my top 5 reasons to read TSIYH, let’s check out the book!

It’s been almost a year since Makani Young came to live with her grandmother in landlocked Nebraska, and she’s still adjusting to her new life. And still haunted by her past in Hawaii.
Then, one by one, the students of her small town high school begin to die in a series of gruesome murders, each with increasing and grotesque flair. As the terror grows closer and the hunt intensifies for the killer, Makani will be forced to confront her own dark secrets.
Stephanie Perkins, bestselling author of Anna and the French Kiss, returns with a fresh take on the classic teen slasher story that’s fun, quick-witted, and completely impossible to put down.
Sounds good, right?
Top 5 Reasons to Read There’s Someone Inside Your House
The cast of characters — they’re all smart and strong and loyal to each other and there’s some great representation.
The murdery goodness — Stephanie has called this story murder-lite and I have to agree. There are some gory scenes, but they’re easy to skip past.
The sweetness — Just because it’s a thriller, doesn’t mean there are some swoony scenes and kissing.
The corn — Okay, I hate cornfields. Like haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate them. However, I can recognize that they’re quite effective at being scary and this book has a ridiculous amount of corn.
It’s Stephanie — I mean, yeah.
Hi, there! I’m Stephanie Perkins, and I’m a New York Times and international bestselling author of books for teenagers and for adults with teenage hearts. I was born in South Carolina, raised in Arizona, and I attended universities in California and Georgia. Since 2004, I’ve lived in the mountains of North Carolina.
I’ve always worked with books—first as a bookseller, then as a librarian, now as a novelist and editor. My best friend is my husband Jarrod. Every room of our house is painted a different color of the rainbow, and we share it with a feisty cat named Mr. Tumnus.
Huge thanks to Penguin for the invite! Make sure you’re checking out the rest of the blog tour for all sorts of goodies and keep scrolling for a giveaway!
